Friends and Family Share Their Tributes

Hi to all family and friends! The Martin family requests your help in recognizing a very important day.

The Occasion: Saturday, October 13, 2018 will mark one year since we lost our dad, husband, and friend to a rare cancer caused by HPV.
As many of you know, Andy was a quiet giver with an incredibly generous spirit. So this Saturday, in his name, we ask you to help us celebrate the first annual #AndyGivesDay.

The Objective: HPV is a virus that up to 80% of sexually active people are infected with at some point in their life. The good news is with today's vaccinations, this is a virus that you CAN prevent your kids from getting. Right now, 80% of cervical cancer is caused by HPV and we need to end that. The Martin family aims to raise awareness about HPV and hope to help end the disease for good, one vaccination at a time.

What we need from you: We ask that you help us Educate (Spread the word about HPV), Vaccinate (Make sure your kid's shots are up date), and if you can, please Donate. After donating share a picture to social media striking Andy's muscle pose (picture above) and show us how you are "Andy Strong" using our hashtag #AndyGivesDay.

Thank you to everyone for your support!!

A brief tribute to my brother-in-law, Andy Martin, who is currently engaged in cancer treatment for recently diagnosed stage 4 cancer.

As I understand now, cancer treatment is often referred to as a battle (or a war) and I guess that is an apt metaphor although Andy's best weapons are his sense of humor, his generous spirt, his decency and the love of his friends and family. He is already well into chemo and radiation and from what I can see it isn't much fun.

Nevertheless, Andy is a person who has always been completely full of life so he's still got plenty of it as needed to deploy all of his weapons, all of his troops and all of his strategy to go after this cancer.

We all think the world of him. Andy has always been a person to help and think of others. Now, I will think of him daily, I will help him in any way possible and I will be there every step of the way.

I could not have a better brother-in-law or friend.

I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to my dear friend Andy Martin. Andy has proven to be a wonderful father to his three children, an exemplary husband to his wife Mary Ann and an extraordinary friend to so many. He has been extremely generous with his time and also finances from a philanthropic standpoint as well.

His friends and family have joined hands to support him through this battle of his rare form of cancer. We think of him daily with hope and encouragement for favorable results throughout his treatment and recovery.

In addition, we all would like to thank the ICAN organization for the tremendous support they have provided to the Martin family in an extremely difficult time.

We are with you Andy!
